Vintage Silver from Rajasthan

 Handcrafted decades ago and earlier worn as anklets around very petite ankles, these two kadas( bangles) carry the marks of time—the softened edges, the mellowed silver, the tiny imperfections that speak of hands, history and lives once lived.

These were traditionally worn by Rajasthan’s rural and tribal communities and crafted using techniques such as repoussé, engraving, granulation.

Silver jewellery was far more than adornment. Bold necklaces, substantial bangles, anklets, amulets and intricately worked earrings often reflected a woman’s community, region and marital status, and could also represent wealth carried quite literally on the body.

Today, genuine vintage pieces are becoming increasingly difficult to find. No two have aged quite the same way, and their beautiful patina is part of their story.
